Theme and Background

Maybe some of you have read our Fire Joker review (also a video slot from Play’n GO). If so, you’ll know what we’re talking about when we say the first time we saw the joker of this slot smiling from ear to ear – we immediately thought of his Fire Joker buddy. Admittedly, Fire Joker buddy looks a tad better than Fruit Joker. But, hey, they’re both jesters with funny hats on so the concepts aren’t radically different. Only this one doesn’t set the reels ablaze. He likes to juggle some fruit around instead.

Ok, so the combo of jester + a bunch of fruit isn’t exactly awe-inspiring, but it works for this video slot. The Joker is the wild symbol. The other symbols are: lemon, orange, plum, blueberries, watermelon and cherries. The only other symbols are the classic ‘7’ symbol and the ‘bar’ symbol. As you can tell from the description of the symbols alone, this slot is similar to Fire Joker in that it’s based on the classic fruit-slots that were the first to make it onto casino lobbies way back when. It’s just in the 21st century, the classic slots are now online.

The colors of this slot are very bright and very in-your-face. The background music is endearing (though not as addictive as the Fire Joker one) and not annoying. Overall, this slot doesn’t pretend to be what it’s not – it’s meant to be a slot that focuses on cashing out huge sums of real money, and that’s what it does. So we can’t really hold it against the slot that it’s not as pretty as other Play’n GO slots, like Viking Runecraft.

Gameplay

Also unlike Viking Runecraft, there aren’t a million different special features to this slot. It’s very simple – you have a Wild symbol (the Joker) and whenever he appears twice or three times across the reels, you win a lot and a loott of money. Fire Joker is a jackpot slot sure, but Multifruit 81 is just a cash-cow that keeps on giving. Joking aside, it is a little more complicated than that so we’re going to give our best shot and break it down for you as best we can.

Wild

As a Wild, the Fruit Joker can substitute all other symbols on the reels. Now, because there are no other special symbols like scatters, that means that a Wild has a much higher chance of getting you winning combos. Also, whenever he makes an appearance, the Fruit Joker will act as a multiplier and increase your total winning sum.

A combination of two Fruit Joker wilds will multiply the win on the payways by 2x. A combo of three Joker wilds will multiply the win on the payways by a huge 5x. The way it works is that one reel is highlighted before each spin. If the Joker wild symbol lands on the highlighted reel, it will automatically copy and replace all the symbols on that reel. The catch is, if you land four Joker wilds on the reels that you won’t get any multipliers at all – just a payout of 10.00. Basically, it’s two, three or nothing.

You might be thinking, how does this make it a volatile slot? Well, even if the 2x and 5x multipliers and wilds don’t make it volatile enough for you, the payouts on this game are pretty frequent. That means that whether it’s a small win or a big win, the slot will cash-out quite a bit as you’re playing. We only gave it about 10 spins in total (granted, play at $100 each time) and we hit a big win and a super big win in consecutive sequence.

As you can see from the paytable, the symbols don’t have some huge value attached to them. Heck, they’re not even a high paytable even from Play’n GO’s own set of slots. But, this slot is called Multifruit 81 for a very good reason: there are 81 different patterns in which you can hit a win. That means that a single spin could give you more than 1 hit combo at a time which means the possibility of big wins per spin is highly increased.

The bet-levels of this slot can be easily adjusted, and given the huge range of coin values the levels of risk can be altered according to your taste. The payout percentage is 96.55%, which is a bit higher than what Play’n GO usually offer. Overall, the payouts and wagering limits of this slot are great for both high-rollers and risk takers who still want to reign in their bankroll flow. Multifruit 81 is simple and straightforward in gameplay, but it offers some decent opportunities for big wins. That’s always a plus in our book.
